Help Fight Animal Cruelty with HSUS!
Animals all over the world are being abused. Whether it be physical abuse, starvation, lack of TLC, or abandonment, it is not okay. The Humane Society of the United States fights to expose this problem and put this cruelty to rest. It is a non-profit organization that depends solely on donations. They take in strays and rescue thousands of animals that otherwise would likely die. They are a great organization that deserves more credit and needs to be noticed in order to fulfill its' purpose.
But is animal cruelty really such a big problem?
In 2007, out of 1,880 animal cruelty cases reported, 64.5% of the cases were dogs, 18% were cats, and 25% were other animals. Many animal cruelty cases go unreported, so it’s hard to keep track of how many cases there actually are. The Humane Society of the United States has organizations located in many cities throughout the country. There’s even one here locally in Statesboro, Georgia. They don’t have a facility; they rely on foster homes and donations to take in and care for each animal. This gives each animal the attention they require, and they get better accustomed to life with a loving family. |
